There are two primary categories that Google looks at when analyzing your website. They are on-page factors and off-page factors. On-page factors include keyword relevancy for the the site and individual web pages. On each page of your site the Google-bot analyzes the URL structure, meta tags, article title, article content and how well each of them are optimized for your keywords.
Off page analysis is where Google is looking primarily for one thing! “Inbound Links” (backlinks) to your web pages. You get your inbound links from other websites that have posted a link on their website that points back to you. The number of quality backlinks is the juice that makes search engine optimization so very powerful. If you want to outrank your competition, it will all come down to having the highest PR (page rank) websites linking back to your website and web pages within your site.
